“After struggling with my substance misuse addiction for many years I made a conscious decision to attend a rehabilitation centre in Bangor, North Wales (Ty’n Rodyn). During my 8 month stay I was signed up to CAIS’ Recovery Coaching Project by Rod and crossed over to the Cyfle Cymru project during my time on the project.
“I have completed all of my personal development courses, and I feel now is the time I can give something back. Under Rod’s guidance I have started to volunteer at their drop in and shadowing staff. I cannot believe how far I am progressing in my recovery with the right support I feel I can achieve anything. With the support of Cyfle Cymru I am learning new skills and feel ready now to gain full time employment. If the opportunity arises to gain employment as a substance misuse Peer Mentor I am ready for the challenge. I would like to thank Rod and the Cyfle Cymru team for helping and supporting me in making positive changes in my life.”
