Clive Wolfendale joined CAIS as Chief Executive in September 2009. Previously, he was Deputy Chief Constable of North Wales Police, having transferred from the Greater Manchester Police where he had served for twenty six years. Throughout his police career he was active in developing new approaches to community engagement, diversity and professional standards.
Clive is Company Secretary of DACW, a member of the Board of the Wales Council for Voluntary Action, and an Independent Member of the Welsh Government Department for Education and Skills Corporate Governance Committee.
He sits as Chair of CAIS Social Enterprises Limited, and is also Chair of Living Room Cardiff.
Clive is a trustee and treasurer of the Nant Gwrtheyrn Welsh Language and Cultural Centre, Musical Director of the Llandudno Town Band, and Vice President of the Llangollen International Eisteddfod committee. A graduate of Manchester Business School and Cambridge University, Clive is now firmly established within public life in Wales. He is a member of the Association of Chief Police Officers and the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations.
