Helen completed detox and has grown from being a timid and nervous person to becoming a proactive and confident lady who is looking forward to her future. Â
Helen, 49, found it hard to remain active in social environments and was referred to Cyfle Cymru for specialist support.
She worked with a Cyfle Cymru mentor in Caerphilly and engaged in coffee mornings, open days, employability skills workshops, and has completed her Peer Mentor Training course as a result of this support.
Her new-found confidence enables her to attend the gym, interact with groups of people, and Helen is now looking forward to her future volunteering within the Out of Work Service programme and the befriending service at Ystrad Mynach Hospital.
Cyfle Cymru is delivered by members of the DACW Consortium.
Cyfle Cymru is part of the Welsh Government’s Out of Work Service, supported by the European Social Fund.
